LED stands for `light emitting diode` and are energy efficient. LEDs use at least 75 percent less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs and last 25 times longer, according to the U.S. Department of Energy. A diode is an electrical component with two terminals which conduct the electricity only in one direction. With an electrical current, the diode emits a bright light around the small bulb. LED Signage can be split into two main areas, namely LEDs on the back of cut out aluminium letters, to create a `Halo Effect' and the second being LED strip inside fabricated or box perspex letters.

Neon signs are luminous-tube signs that contain neon or other insert gases at low pressure. Applying a high voltage (usually a few thousand volts) makes the gas glow brightly. The neon signs are produces by the craft of bending glass tubing into shapes. A worker skilled in this craft is known as a glass bender, neon or tube bender.

Backlit light boxes are a traditional style of illuminated sign made from high quality aluminium profiles making them very robust and durable. These light boxes are often used for shop fascia signs. Chromadeck is a galvanized metal sheet with one surface coloured in either a frost white, polar white, black or yellow colour. Used extensively in signage and is the most durable, longest lasting method of advertising. Used for long term outdoor signs. It has a much longer lifetime than PVC, with greater strength. Can be cut and shaped to fit custom needs of clients.
